I've spent the last 15 years in digital marketing - most of them building Insites, a platform that audits what small businesses actually need online. It started in a digital agency, watching the same problems come up again and again: businesses with no idea how their digital presence looked to customers, or what was quietly costing them enquiries. Insites was built to fix that at scale.

Local Foundry is the other side of that coin. After years of telling SMBs what needed fixing, I wanted to be the one actually fixing it - properly, for businesses in my own area. It's come full circle in the best possible way.

The thing that genuinely drives me is this: local economies are only as strong as the businesses in them. When people spend money locally, communities thrive. I try to live that - I use local businesses whenever I can, and I want every SMB we work with to succeed and grow. The high street matters. I care about it quite a lot.

When I'm not thinking about AI search or website structure, I'm usually tinkering with Arthur - a 1985 VW T3 camper that demands more attention than any algorithm - or watching Formula 1, often at the same time.

The Queens Head

A proper local pub in Belper. My go-to.
